Pen and Charcoal Drawings

If possible I like to draw every day. I love pen and ink , charcoal and fine pen drawing,

I like to use a Uni-pin Fine Line pen 0.5 Mitsubishi.

“CHARCOAL allows me the pleasure of capturing the play of light and shadow on the human form.

It is quick , fluid and fantastic for gesture drawing and for sketching quickly.

Charcoal eagerly offers a tonal range, allowing me to explore bold contrasts with more subtle highlights.

I always have a lot of wiping paper to hand, as finger drawing adds that extra nuance to the experience. Charcoal is forgiving and flexible , allowing me to dive right in , particularly useful when drawing with a live model.”

The following were drawn on copy paper , showing how versatile charcoal is on any surface.
